The ideal situation when producing custom dog figures is to work with a live model. Dog figure work involves choosing a pose or posture, measuring, photographing, and sculpting. It is possible to create a figure without a model present. I will ask for as many photographs as possible to develop the work.
Figures can be made in miniature to two-to-three times life size. Some of the most popular figures are a 1/8-life size or a 3/4 life size.
Figures start at $1,500 in clay and $3,000 in bronze (tabletop size - 10" standing figure). Full life figures of dogs in bronze start at $5,000 (small breed) to $12,000 (medium/large breed). Prices vary based on posture and material.
Dogs are always welcome to visit my studio or gallery in Portland, or I am happy to travel to complete a piece provided that travel expenses are paid.
